The production gap

A label is more than an image.

A flattened image may look finished on screen while still missing the structure needed for production.

Blurry edges, embedded text, mixed color values, missing bleed, and an undefined cut path can delay proofing or send the file back for correction. VectorGurus rebuilds the artwork with intentional paths, clean typography, organized colors, and a production structure based on the requirements you provide.

Flattened JPG, PNG, scan, or PDF

Low-resolution or pixelated artwork

Missing or unusable source files

Printer-requested file corrections

Professional file preparation

Artwork prepared around your production requirements.

We scope each job to the supplied artwork, finished product, and printer specifications—so you pay for the preparation the label actually needs.

01

Manual vector redraw

Logos, lettering, icons, borders, and graphic elements are rebuilt as intentional paths—not passed through one-click auto-tracing.

02

Dieline and cut-path setup

A separate cut path can be prepared to the finished size, shape, and specifications supplied by you or your printer.

03

Bleed and safe area

Artwork can be extended past trim and kept clear of critical cut areas using the measurements required for your label.

04

Process and spot colors

Colors are organized for CMYK or named spot-color workflows using supplied Pantone values or printer requirements when available.

05

Specialty production layers

White ink, foil, varnish, and other finishes can be separated into clearly named layers when the production job requires them.

06

Editable delivery package

The exact package is confirmed in your quote and may include AI, EPS, SVG, PDF, PNG, and JPG files for production and reference.

File quality comparison

Same design. A much better production file.

The difference is not a file extension. It is the structure inside the file: clean geometry, separated elements, organized color, and production details that remain practical to inspect and revise.

Production responsibilities

Professional preparation, with the right approvals in the right hands.

Before the file goes to press

VectorGurus prepares artwork to the specifications included in the approved scope. Final material selection, press settings, color proofing, substrate testing, and physical cut accuracy remain subject to approval by your printer or packaging manufacturer.

The customer is responsible for final copy, ingredients, claims, regulatory content, trademarks, and barcode data or scannability.

Your printer should approve the final dieline, dimensions, colors, specialty layers, and proof before full production.

Label vectorization FAQ

What to know before you send the artwork.

Have a printer checklist or an unusual production requirement? Attach it to the quote request and we will review it with the artwork.

01Can you work from a low-resolution label image?

Yes. We regularly rebuild artwork from pixelated JPGs, PNGs, scans, screenshots, and flattened PDFs. If an important detail is unclear, we will ask for clarification rather than inventing it.

02Is the label artwork manually vectorized?

Yes. A designer rebuilds the artwork with deliberate paths, curves, typography, and color structure. Automated tracing is not substituted for the professional redraw included in this service.

03Can you add a dieline, bleed, and safe area?

Yes, when the finished dimensions and cut requirements are supplied or confirmed. If your printer has a template, send it with the request for the most reliable setup.

04Can you prepare spot colors, white ink, foil, or varnish layers?

Yes. These elements can be placed on separate, clearly named layers using your printer’s required swatch names, color values, and overprint settings.

05Which files will I receive?

The exact package is confirmed in your quote. Typical deliverables may include an editable AI master, EPS or SVG artwork, a production PDF, and high-resolution PNG or JPG reference files.

06Can you redesign the label as well?

The standard service focuses on accurately rebuilding and preparing supplied artwork. Layout changes, new creative concepts, illustration, copy changes, or a complete label redesign can be quoted separately.

07How much does label vectorization cost?

Pricing depends on the artwork complexity and production setup required. Upload the files for a free review and you will receive a clear quote before work begins.

08How quickly will it be ready?

The schedule depends on artwork complexity, the completeness of your printer specifications, and any specialty production requirements. Your expected turnaround is stated in the quote.
